SURREALIST AUTHOR or EXPLOITATION ARTIST
Writer Shelley Jackson wants you to help publish her book. Forgoing traditional methods using typeset and paper, Jackson intends to print her short story 'Skin' using just that, skin and needle. Each of the over one thousand modern primitive applicants from around the world has volunteered to have one 'Word' from Ms. Jackson's 2,095-word opus inked onto their body. The caveat: none of the human manuscript pages will have the opportunity to actually read Jackson's tale in it's entirety until they have committed their epidermises to her art project. In fact no one will, since her human book will never be shown (or is it read?) publicly. However, Jackson does plan an art exhibit featuring photographs of the faces of her 'Words' in the precise order in which they appear. Though ticket holders will find themselves merely teased since the actual tattoos of Jackson's text branded on the heads, arms, legs, backs, and asses will not be on display, "since that would reveal the story."
